Shipwrecked
A Poem
July left me on a ship with broken sails drifting in the sandy ocean of dry desert trails After battling waves for years without measure I forgot how to navigate without seeking treasure As I slept under the sea of singing stars Poseidon must have decided I no longer needed his waters I woke to a dusted sun and lips too dry to ask where on earth the Gods had me unceremoniously cast In the distance I heard a symphony of howls and my heart fluttered at the haunting sound The ship on which I have spent my life searching and sailing no longer serves my tides July left me and I must leave this wreck placing my feet upon the ground to follow the only map left That sensation in my heart when I hear the call of those howling voices the wild has me in thrall The greatest adventure yet stepping forth with no compass letting trust lead the way to become free at last

"That sensation in my heart when I hear the call
of those howling voices
the wild has me in thrall"
After the tide no longer serves. A new adventure begins.
Lovely piece. 🤍
